Shinhan Bank has finished a stablecoin pilot for corporate overseas remittances, built with technical support from the Solana Foundation. The headline feature is what corporate clients did not have to do. They never opened a crypto wallet or held a stablecoin, and their banking routine stayed exactly the same. The South Korean lender announced the completion of the proof-of-concept on September 30, 2026. How the pilot worked Shinhan designed the test to copy the real remittance operations of a large Korean corporation. The pilot covered the full workflow, from counterparty registration through execution and final settlement. Stablecoin-based transfers and settlements were plugged into the bank’s existing systems. To handle privacy, Shinhan ran the process on a private solution on the Solana network. The goal was to keep sensitive transaction details confidential while still supporting transparent validation of each transaction.
