The Snapchat parent company reported Q2 2026 revenue of $1.60 billion, a 19% jump year-over-year that comfortably beat analyst estimates of roughly $1.54 billion. Shares responded by climbing 13% in extended trading following the August 3 earnings release. World Cup dollars and AI-powered ads The standout driver here is straightforward: the FIFA World Cup opened the advertising floodgates. Large North American advertisers piled into Snapchat campaigns to reach younger audiences glued to tournament coverage, and the spending showed up clearly in the top line. CEO Evan Spiegel pointed to this World Cup tailwind alongside strength from small- and medium-sized businesses. Spiegel also highlighted ongoing improvements to Snap’s advertising products, particularly AI-powered tools designed for better targeting and bidding.
