SpaceX hits 12 million Starlink subscribers as satellite internet giant eyes potential IPO

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service now counts over 12 million active subscribers worldwide, a milestone reached at the close of the second quarter of 2026. That’s up from 10.3 million at the end of Q1, which itself was up from roughly 9 million at the end of 2025. The numbers behind the growth The jump from 9 million to 12 million in roughly two quarters represents a 33% increase in half a year. The service now operates in more than 160 countries and territories. With an average revenue per user of approximately $110 per month, some quick math puts Starlink’s annualized subscriber revenue somewhere north of $15 billion. Analysts project the service could reach between 15 and 18 million subscribers by the end of 2026. A significant catalyst for continued growth is the planned rollout of third-generation (V3) satellites later this year, which are designed to substantially enhance network capacity.
