Strategy reports $1.4B unrealized profit as Bitcoin rallies above acquisition price

Strategy Inc., the company formerly known as MicroStrategy, is back in profit territory. The firm’s massive 840,447 BTC stash has generated roughly $1.4 billion in unrealized gains after Bitcoin surged past the company’s average acquisition price of $75,385 per coin. The swing comes after Bitcoin rallied nearly 22% over just five trading sessions. MSTR shares responded in kind, jumping approximately 10% in pre-market trading to around $120, their highest level in two months. The math behind the turnaround Strategy’s Bitcoin position is, by any measure, enormous. The company has spent roughly $63.36B accumulating its stash over several years of aggressive purchasing, making it the largest corporate Bitcoin holder on the planet by a wide margin. At an average cost of $75,385 per BTC, the company needs Bitcoin trading comfortably above that level to show gains. The recent rally delivered exactly that, producing a gain of about 2.4% on the total position.
