World Liberty Financial, the DeFi platform with deep ties to the Trump family, has named Ryan Ballantyne as its new chief business officer. His mandate: steer global strategy and partnerships for a platform that’s quickly becoming one of the most politically charged experiments in decentralized finance. Ballantyne arrives from Coinbase Institutional, where he built a track record in institutional sales. What WLFI is building World Liberty Financial launched in 2024, founded by a group that includes Zachary Folkman, Chase Herro, Alex Witkoff, Zach Witkoff, and members of the Trump family. The platform has moved quickly since then, assembling a product suite that looks less like a typical DeFi startup and more like a fintech company with blockchain infrastructure.
