Wren House Infrastructure Management nears deal for GIC’s data center stake

Wren House Infrastructure Management, the infrastructure investment arm of Kuwait’s sovereign wealth fund, is in advanced talks to acquire GIC Pte’s stake in a European data center joint venture. The deal would mark the latest in a string of aggressive moves by sovereign wealth funds jostling for position in the white-hot data center market. The identity and size of the European joint venture haven’t been publicly disclosed. Two sovereign funds, one chessboard Wren House has been on a tear. The firm participated in a consortium that acquired Aligned Data Centers in July 2026 at an enterprise value of roughly $40 billion, one of the largest data center deals ever recorded. Before that, Wren House completed a joint venture with QTS Realty Trust in November 2024, picking up three fully contracted data centers in Northern Virginia totaling 100 MW of capacity. GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, is moving in the opposite direction on certain assets.
