XRP Ledger hits 14M AI agent transactions, but benefits unclear

Autonomous agents are flooding the XRPL with micro-payments, yet the dollars changing hands remain remarkably small The XRP Ledger has become a busy place for software that pays other software. As of October 19, 2026, the XRPL AI Hub had logged 14,547,668 transactions tied to AI agents using the x402 payment protocol. That is a lot of activity. The money behind it is much less impressive. Cumulative settlements across all those payments came to just 7,010.24 XRP and 16,509.25 RLUSD. Motley Fool put the collective value of the agent payments at a modest $33,506. A transaction boom built on pocket change The growth curve is steep. The XRPL AI Hub data shows agent transactions sitting at roughly 1 million in July 2026. By early October, that number had passed 10 million. Less than three weeks later, it was approaching 14.5 million. Daily activity has spiked hard at points. Peak days have topped 600,000 transactions, and the network averaged around 500,000 agent payments per day during some stretches. The payments are spread across 173 merchants.
