YouGov survey reveals AI’s limited impact on US jobs since 2023

Nearly four years after ChatGPT kicked off the great AI panic, the American workforce appears to have absorbed the shock better than almost anyone predicted. A new YouGov survey of 1,250 US workers found that just 3% reported losing their jobs to AI automation since 2023. The survey, conducted between July 30 and August 4, 2026, was commissioned by a sociologist who researches AI.
