Someone just moved 2,269 BTC, worth north of $171 million, from an unidentified wallet straight into Coinbase Institutional. Blockchain tracking service Whale Alert flagged the transaction, and it immediately caught the attention of market watchers trying to decode what big players are doing with their Bitcoin. A busy year for Coinbase Institutional inflows This latest transfer doesn’t exist in isolation. Coinbase Institutional has been on the receiving end of a steady stream of large Bitcoin deposits throughout 2026. In June, roughly 2,537 BTC flowed into the platform. July brought an even larger batch of 2,874 BTC. Early September saw another 2,024 BTC arrive, followed by a separate deposit of approximately 853 BTC, valued at around $65 million, near September 15.
