Yves Bissouma, the 30-year-old Malian international who spent the last four years in the Premier League, is on the verge of signing with Ajax Amsterdam. The defensive midfielder is currently in the Dutch capital undergoing medical examinations, with a deal expected to run through mid-2027 and include an option for an additional year. For Ajax, it’s the kind of move that costs almost nothing if it doesn’t work and could pay off handsomely if it does. Bissouma arrives as a free agent after his contract with Tottenham Hotspur expired in the summer of 2026, making him available without a transfer fee. From north London to the Eredivisie Bissouma joined Spurs from Brighton & Hove Albion back in 2022 for a reported fee of around €30 million. He went on to make 111 appearances in a Tottenham shirt.
