AM Intelligence orders 9,000 Nvidia Vera Rubin systems for AI infrastructure

AM Intelligence just placed one of the largest known orders for Nvidia’s newest hardware: 9,000 Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale systems, destined for an AI factory in Hyderabad, India. The order represents AMI’s first major hardware commitment as the company embarks on a plan to spend over $8B on AI compute infrastructure globally. The systems are scheduled for delivery by Q1 2027, powering the initial 30 MW phase of the Hyderabad facility. What Vera Rubin actually is Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform entered full production in May 2026. It’s purpose-built for what the industry calls “agentic AI,” meaning AI systems that can reason, plan, and take actions autonomously rather than just responding to prompts. The NVL72 designation refers to a rack-scale configuration, meaning these aren’t individual chips being slotted into existing servers.
