AMD surges above $600, approaches $1T market cap

AMD has crossed the $600 per share threshold, putting the chipmaker within striking distance of a $1 trillion market capitalization. The move builds on a 2026 rally driven by surging demand for AI accelerators and data center hardware. AMD’s stock hit an all-time high of $580.91 in July, which valued the company at roughly $947 billion and made it the 13th largest in the US by market cap. The numbers behind the run AMD’s second quarter of 2026 tells the story pretty clearly. Revenue came in at $11.5 billion, a gain of more than 50% compared to the same period a year earlier. The data center segment saw its revenue more than double. Non-GAAP earnings per share landed at $1.66 for the quarter. As recently as September 18, shares were trading around $559.82 with a market cap of approximately $914 billion.
