Anthropic’s culture interview asks candidates how they’d feel if the company’s stock dropped to zero

Imagine sitting in a job interview and being asked: what would you do if this company abandoned its goals and its stock became worthless? For candidates applying to Anthropic, the AI company behind Claude, that’s not a thought experiment. It’s an actual interview question. Anthropic has built what it calls a “culture interview” into its hiring pipeline, a roughly 45-minute session led by a designated employee who probes candidates on their alignment with the company’s AI safety mission.
