Arm Holdings has crossed a threshold that changes the math on everything it can do next. The company’s market capitalization surged past $300 billion in May 2026, peaking at roughly $317 billion on May 21 before settling around $298 billion by mid-August. From blueprints to building blocks The AGI CPU, launched in March 2026, represents Arm’s decisive break from its licensing model. Rather than licensing designs for others to manufacture, Arm is now selling its own chip targeting inference workloads in data centers. Customer demand has been aggressive. The AGI CPU has already secured more than $2 billion in commitments covering fiscal years 2027 and 2028, a figure that significantly exceeded management’s initial projections. Oracle has signed on as a notable partner, and leading hyperscalers across both North America and China have expressed interest.
