Bitcoin Bancorp acquires defunct Bitcoin Depot ATMs for $620K

Bitcoin Bancorp (OTC: BCBC) just picked up approximately 2,500 Bitcoin ATMs for about $620,750. That works out to roughly $250 per machine, or less than the price of a decent office chair. The kiosks came from the Chapter 11 bankruptcy estate of Bitcoin Depot, a company that, not long ago, operated the largest fleet of Bitcoin ATMs on the continent. The acquisition closed in early September 2026 and included between 2,446 and 2,547 physical kiosks, plus roughly $110,500 worth of digital assets and intellectual property rights. From 9,700 kiosks to the auction block Bitcoin Depot’s collapse was swift by any standard. At its peak in late 2025, the company operated around 9,700 kiosks and had processed more than $3.4 billion in cumulative transaction volume since launching in 2016. By Q1 2026, revenue had cratered 49% year-over-year, producing a $9.5 million loss. The company filed for Chapter 11 protection in May 2026, pointing to regulatory pressures as the primary culprit. Its assets went to auction on June 29, 2026, where Bitcoin Bancorp emerged as the buyer.
