Bluerock, the alternative asset manager overseeing roughly $20 billion in real estate and private credit, has ventured into the SPAC arena with a $150 million IPO filing. The blank-check company, trading under NASDAQ tickers BLRKU and BLRK, filed its registration statement with the SEC on November 6, 2025, offering 15 million units at $10.00 each. The SPAC’s prospectus doesn’t restrict it to any particular industry, meaning no restrictions to digital or cryptocurrency sectors are outlined. What Bluerock actually raised Bluerock Acquisition Corp. closed in December 2025 with $172.5 million in proceeds, including full exercise of over-allotment options. That’s $22.5 million more than the initial $150 million target. The SPAC has a 24-month window to identify and complete its first business combination, extendable to 36 months total. R.
