CleanSpark secures 585MW baseload for Batch Zero project amid ERCOT regulatory review

CleanSpark just pulled off something that most large industrial power users in Texas are still waiting in line for. The Bitcoin miner received a conditional Batch Zero baseload designation from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, locking in 585 MW of power for its Texas sites, with an additional 300 MW studied load allocation sitting alongside it. The company disclosed the development in its August 2026 operational update, released September 8, with CEO Matt Schultz framing it as a direct result of the company aligning itself with both ERCOT and the Public Utility Commission of Texas processes during an active regulatory audit period initiated by Governor Abbott. What Batch Zero actually means The conditional classification matters because it de-risks the power supply side of CleanSpark’s Texas operations at a moment when state regulators are actively reviewing large industrial electricity consumers.
