What the technology actually does Under the hood, COTI uses Garbled Circuits-based Multi-Party Computation, a cryptographic method that allows calculations to run on encrypted data without ever exposing the underlying values. Inputs are processed off the host chain, and results return as ciphertext, which the user’s client then decrypts locally. The blockchain itself never sees the raw numbers. COTI claims its Garbled Circuits implementation is 3,000 times faster and 250 times lighter than comparable alternatives. The Privacy Portal itself is built for people who are not cryptographers.
