Fidelity clients scooped up roughly $23.92 million in Bitcoin, adding to a pattern of eight-figure purchases flowing through the financial services giant’s crypto platforms. What Fidelity has been building Fidelity’s crypto ambitions didn’t start yesterday. The firm began researching Bitcoin back in 2014. By 2019, Fidelity Digital Assets was live, offering custody and trading services to institutional clients. The retail side came later. Fidelity Crypto launched for broader retail access in 2023, letting everyday investors buy and sell Bitcoin with a minimum trade size of just $1. The Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund, known by its ticker FBTC, entered the spot Bitcoin ETF arena targeting both institutional and retail investors. FBTC logged a $60 million Bitcoin purchase in March 2025. Reports from July 2026 have tracked multiple Fidelity-related Bitcoin purchases in the $21M to $23M range, with approximately 1,120 BTC acquired during this period.
