Alphabet, Google’s parent company, has reclaimed the $4 trillion market capitalization milestone. The stock closed at $331.86 on the day it crossed the threshold, making Alphabet only the fourth company in history to reach that rarefied air, alongside Nvidia, Microsoft, and Apple. Alphabet’s stock surged 65% in 2025, driven almost entirely by the company’s aggressive push into artificial intelligence. That momentum carried into 2026, propelling the stock past the $4 trillion mark on January 12. The company hadn’t held a valuation this high in over seven years. At its peak in early July 2026, Alphabet’s valuation climbed to approximately $4.3 trillion, briefly ranking it second globally among publicly traded companies. By late July, the market cap had settled back to around $3.9 trillion.
