GrubMarket files confidentially for US IPO after acquisition spree and $4.5B valuation

GrubMarket Inc., the San Francisco-based food supply chain platform, has confidentially filed for a US initial public offering. The move comes after the company spent the past year on a shopping spree, snapping up competitors and software providers to build out what it calls an AI-powered food distribution network. The GrubMarket playbook Founded in 2014 by CEO Mike Xu, GrubMarket started as an e-commerce platform for fresh produce. It has since morphed into something much larger: a supply chain technology company that operates across all 50 US states and more than 70 countries. The company raised $50 million in a Series H financing round in 2025, which valued it at approximately $4.5 billion before the new money came in. GrubMarket’s thesis is straightforward. The American food supply chain is fragmented, analog, and inefficient. The company deploys what it describes as enterprise AI agents for inventory management, operations, and financial reporting.
