Kamino, the lending and liquidity protocol built on Solana, has named Michael Weisz as its new CEO. Weisz co-founded Yieldstreet, an alternative investment platform that deployed over $6 billion across various asset classes and raised more than $250 million in venture and private equity funding. The appointment, effective September 15, is designed to accelerate Kamino’s institutional growth and its expansion into the US market. From alternative investments to on-chain lending Weisz spent over two decades in fintech before stepping into the Kamino role. At Yieldstreet, he built a platform that gave retail and institutional investors access to asset classes like real estate, marine finance, and art lending, all traditionally locked behind high minimums and private bank relationships. The protocol operates as a peer-to-pool lending market on Solana with automated liquidity vaults, supporting leveraged strategies and, increasingly, real-world asset integrations.
