Lovable expands into MCP-powered capabilities, eyes SaaS future

Lovable has quietly become one of the fastest-growing companies in tech by letting people build full-stack web apps using plain English. Now it wants to do something arguably more ambitious: make those apps natively accessible to AI agents, not just humans. The company is rolling out Model Context Protocol (MCP) capabilities that will allow users to expose specific functions of their applications as agent-callable endpoints hosted on MCP servers. Think of it as giving every Lovable-built app a second front door, one designed for AI tools like ChatGPT and Claude to walk through without needing a human to hold it open. From app builder to agent infrastructure MCP is an open protocol that lets AI agents discover and invoke actions on remote servers. Instead of a person clicking through a dashboard to pull a report, an AI agent could call the same function directly, get the data, and fold it into a broader workflow. Lovable plans to host its own MCP servers for this purpose. The company’s CTO, Fabian Hedin, has described a vision where users interact with their work through a singular agent entry point.
