Meta’s AI agent app Muse hits number two on the US Apple App Store

Meta Platforms has a new chart-topper. Muse, the company’s personal AI agent app, reached the number one spot on the US Apple App Store free apps chart, capping a rapid rise since its launch in early September 2026. What Muse actually does Most AI apps function as sophisticated question-and-answer machines. Muse is built around a different premise: executing multi-step tasks on the user’s behalf, things like booking travel, managing calendars, and handling the kind of to-do list that tends to accumulate across a dozen different apps. The app runs on Meta’s Muse Spark model family, version 1.3, and operates inside secure virtual machines within Meta’s own cloud infrastructure. At launch, Muse was available in the US only, accessible through iOS, Android, the web at muse.ai, and via WhatsApp. The app offers both a free tier with usage caps and paid subscription plans for heavier users. A Mac version followed on September 17, roughly nine days after the initial release.
