Microsoft is turning Copilot into something resembling an AI buffet. On September 12, 2026, the company announced it’s adding Grok models from xAI to its Copilot lineup, giving enterprise customers yet another option in what’s becoming a crowded menu of third-party AI systems baked into Microsoft’s productivity stack. From single provider to model marketplace Anthropic’s Claude models were integrated into Copilot Studio back in September 2025. Then came Grok’s first appearance: Grok 4.1 Fast landed in preview for US organizations through Copilot Studio on February 19, 2026. The latest announcement broadens that Grok integration across Microsoft’s Copilot experiences more widely. The underlying infrastructure supporting this expansion is Azure AI Foundry. Microsoft announced at its Build conference in May 2025 that Grok models would be hosted on the platform, laying the groundwork for the integrations rolling out now.
