Napoli submits $10M bid for Exequiel Zeballos after terms agreed

1 hour ago 1

Napoli has put a $10 million offer on the table for Boca Juniors winger Exequiel Zeballos, with the 24-year-old Argentine reportedly already agreeing to personal terms with the Italian side. The deal, if completed, would see Zeballos sign a contract through 2030 at a salary of roughly €1.3 million per year.

Boca Juniors wanted around €20 million for their young winger. Napoli offered roughly half that. Boca is apparently thinking about it seriously, because the alternative is worse.

The contract clock is ticking

Zeballos’s contract with Boca Juniors expires in December 2026. Boca’s asking price of €20 million reflects what they believe Zeballos is worth on pure talent. Napoli’s €9-10 million bid reflects what he’s worth when the buyer knows they could just wait a few months and sign him for nothing.

Zeballos, known by his nickname “Changuito,” reportedly had offers from other clubs that exceeded Napoli’s bid. CSKA Moscow and other clubs from Turkey and Russia were reportedly willing to pay more. But the player chose Napoli, preferring Serie A football in Naples over higher-paying alternatives in less competitive leagues.

Who is Exequiel Zeballos?

Born on April 24, 2002, Zeballos is a left winger who came through Boca Juniors’ youth system. Earlier in the year, Trabzonspor from Turkey’s Super Lig showed significant interest, as did Russian clubs CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow.

Reports from early to mid-July 2026 suggest negotiations are accelerating, with both sides motivated to close before the window’s momentum shifts elsewhere.
