NSA restructures to create five new organizations in AI, cybersecurity, and more

The National Security Agency is carving out five new internal organizations focused on artificial intelligence, China, cybersecurity, combat support, and global intelligence. The restructuring represents one of the most significant organizational overhauls at the signals intelligence agency in years, reflecting how rapidly the threat landscape has shifted. This isn’t the NSA’s first major reorganization. Back in 2016, the agency underwent a sweeping transformation known as NSA21, which consolidated its offensive and defensive cyber operations and reshuffled legacy structures that had been in place for decades.
