Ramp expands to UK in first major international move

Ramp, the New York-based financial operations platform, officially launched its services in the United Kingdom on September 15, marking the company’s first major expansion beyond North America. The UK launch didn’t happen overnight. Ramp laid the groundwork back in March 2026 when it acquired Billhop, a payments firm that came with regulatory authorizations from the UK Financial Conduct Authority and Swedish authorities. That acquisition, which closed on February 19, essentially handed Ramp a compliance passport to operate across both the UK and the European Union. From New York to London, with stops in between The UK expansion is technically Ramp’s second international move. The company entered Canada in July 2026, a natural first step given the geographic and regulatory proximity. UK and EU-based businesses can now onboard directly with Ramp without needing a US entity. The early client roster includes ElevenLabs, the AI voice synthesis company, and Attio, a CRM startup, both of which have started using the platform since summer 2026.
