Ripple adds XRP payments to Stripe and Coinbase’s x402 AI standard in new developer kit

Ripple just gave AI agents their own crypto wallet. The company launched the XRPL AI Starter Kit on June 10, a developer toolkit designed to let autonomous AI systems conduct payments on the XRP Ledger without human intervention. The kit integrates XRPL into the x402 open payment protocol, which already counts Stripe, Coinbase, and Cloudflare among its supporters. AI systems can now pay for API access, model inference, and other digital services using XRP or Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin, all on their own. What’s actually in the toolkit Phase 1 of the starter kit includes tools that allow AI clients, including Anthropic’s Claude, to interact directly with XRPL documentation. The practical capabilities are straightforward but meaningful: wallet creation, transaction monitoring, and real-time payment processing. The integration runs through a partner called t54, which bridges XRPL into the x402 protocol.
