Robinhood built a blockchain for serious things like tokenized stocks and real-world assets. Traders used it for memecoins instead. According to a Bloomberg report dated October 2, 2026, memecoin trading worth $440 million has been tied to Robinhood Markets Inc.’s Stock Tokens. The fuel came from pairing those tokens with memecoins in liquidity pools on the new Robinhood Chain. How stock tokens became memecoin fuel Robinhood Chain went live on mainnet on July 1, 2026. Its stated purpose was tokenizing real-world assets, or RWAs. Memecoins accounted for the majority of DEX volume on the chain in its early days, despite the RWA branding. On Robinhood Chain, many liquidity pools pair a memecoin with a tokenized stock, so instead of trading a memecoin against a stablecoin, traders swap it directly against something like tokenized Nvidia. The stock token becomes the base currency for speculation. On September 2, 2026, memecoin and stock token pairs generated $217 million in volume on the chain.
