Rubrik’s stock ripped 21% higher in a single week, pushing the data security company’s market cap north of $21.8 billion. The catalyst wasn’t a product launch or an acquisition. It was fear. Public warnings from Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei about advanced AI systems potentially enabling sophisticated cyberattacks sent a shockwave through the cybersecurity sector, lifting the entire group. Rubrik, already riding momentum from a strong earnings report, caught the updraft more than most. Shares jumped more than 15% on September 14 alone. The numbers behind the rally Rubrik’s fiscal Q2 2027 results, covering the period ending July 31, 2026, gave investors plenty of reasons to buy before Amodei’s warnings provided the final push. Revenue hit $427.3 million, a 38% increase compared to the same quarter a year earlier. Subscription annual recurring revenue climbed 33% year-over-year to $1.66 billion. That number was strong enough that management raised its full-year guidance. The stock surge also minted billionaires.
