S&P Global is reportedly exploring a potential multibillion-dollar spinout of Capital IQ, its widely used financial data and analytics platform. Capital IQ, commonly referred to as CapIQ, is a core product within S&P Global’s Market Intelligence segment, sitting alongside tools like Visible Alpha and integrated datasets from With Intelligence. A company already in restructuring mode S&P Global completed the spin-off of its Mobility division into an independent publicly traded entity, Mobility Global Inc. (NYSE: MBGL), on July 1, 2026. In that transaction, each S&P Global shareholder received one share of MBGL for every share of SPGI they held as of June 15, 2026.
