Salesforce’s AI agent business grows over 200% amid expansion concerns

Salesforce’s Agentforce platform is putting up numbers that would make most enterprise software companies blush. Revenue from the AI agent product surpassed $1.2 billion in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, representing 205% growth compared to the same period a year earlier. Agentforce launched in late 2024 and closed its first full fiscal year with roughly $800 million in annual recurring revenue, up 169% year-over-year. By Q1 FY2027, that figure had jumped to $1.2 billion. When you fold in Salesforce’s broader AI and data products, including Data 360 and Informatica Cloud, combined ARR reaches $3.4 billion. Deal volume tells a similar story. Salesforce has closed approximately 29,000 Agentforce deals since inception. In Q1 FY2027 alone, the company signed 98 contracts with an annual contract value exceeding $1 million, a single-quarter record. The top ten customers by Agentforce usage increased their total Salesforce spending by 1.5 times, suggesting the platform functions as an effective upsell vehicle.
