Solana Foundation joins Rust Foundation as Platinum member at RustConf 2026

The Solana Foundation is now a Platinum member of the Rust Foundation, the highest tier the organization offers. The announcement came on September 9, 2026, during opening remarks at RustConf 2026 in Montreal, delivered by Rust Foundation Executive Director and CEO Dr. Rebecca Rumbul. NVIDIA joined at the same level on the same stage. What Platinum membership actually means Platinum is not just a branding upgrade. The tier requires an annual financial commitment of $325,000, and it comes with a dedicated seat on the Rust Foundation’s board. Solana was not new to RustConf before this announcement. The foundation had previously participated as a Diamond-level sponsor at earlier editions of the conference, so the move to Platinum represents a deliberate step up rather than a sudden conversion.
