Solana surpasses Binance, Coinbase, and Kraken in spot asset volume

For most of crypto’s history, the trading volume leaderboard has looked roughly the same: Binance at the top, followed by a handful of centralized exchanges, with decentralized platforms fighting for scraps. That hierarchy is quietly falling apart. Spot asset volume on Solana’s decentralized exchange ecosystem now exceeds the combined volume of Coinbase and Kraken, and has done so consistently through the summer of 2026. During the week of June 12 through 18, Solana DEX volume hit approximately $7.19 billion. Coinbase posted roughly $6 billion over the same period. Kraken came in around $4 billion. How a blockchain out-traded a stock-market-adjacent exchange Solana’s DEX activity is not one company. It is a collection of protocols running on a shared blockchain, collectively processing more dollar volume than that entire institution. The week of June 12 ranked Solana third globally behind Binance, which recorded approximately $34.39 billion in volume, and Bybit at approximately $9.47 billion.
