A special purpose acquisition company called Circle Acquisition has reportedly filed for a $150 million initial public offering, with stated targets spanning digital assets, technology, and healthcare. The filing adds another entrant to the SPAC pipeline at a time when blank-check companies are navigating tighter regulatory scrutiny and a more skeptical investor base. The entity’s name invites immediate confusion with Circle Internet Group, the company behind the USDC stablecoin, which trades on the NYSE under the ticker CRCL. The two are not the same company.
