SparkLend USDS borrowing surpasses $800M, hits new all-time high

SparkLend, the lending arm of the Sky ecosystem, just crossed a milestone that would have seemed ambitious a month ago. USDS borrowing on the protocol has blown past $800 million, setting a fresh all-time high after surging 64% in the past 30 days. The numbers behind the surge The $800 million USDS borrowing figure is part of a broader picture that looks equally strong. SparkLend’s total provided liquidity sits at approximately $6.8 billion, with active borrowings across the protocol reaching around $2.13 billion. Total Value Locked ranges between $4.65 billion and $7.4 billion depending on the metric used. The collateral driving much of this activity is Ethereum-native. Wrapped staked ETH, or wstETH, accounts for over $3 billion in supplied assets. Why SparkLend’s model is attracting capital SparkLend is architecturally a fork of Aave V3, but its economic model diverges in one critical way. While Aave uses market-driven interest rates that fluctuate based on utilization, SparkLend employs a governance-determined borrowing rate for USDS.
