Starlink customers calling for help with their dish are now mostly talking to an AI. SpaceX’s satellite internet service has deployed xAI’s Grok Voice to handle more than 15,000 customer support calls every single day, processing hardware diagnostics, shipping replacements, and completing over 3,000 orders per week through voice and chat channels. The numbers paint a picture of an AI system operating at a scale that most companies only talk about in pitch decks. About 70% of support issues are resolved autonomously by Grok Voice, meaning no human agent ever touches the ticket. On the sales side, Grok Voice is converting roughly 20% of inbound inquiries into actual orders. From pilot to production The rollout didn’t happen overnight. Starlink began phasing Grok Voice into its support infrastructure earlier in 2026, with callers first hearing the system identify itself as an AI assistant in mid-April.
