Strategy, the software-turned-Bitcoin-treasury company formerly known as MicroStrategy, has disclosed holdings of 840,447 BTC with a total purchase price of $63.36–63.4 billion as of mid-August 2026. That figure cements its position as the single largest corporate holder of Bitcoin on the planet. At an average acquisition cost of roughly $75,385 per Bitcoin, Strategy’s position represents close to 4% of the hard-capped 21 million Bitcoin that will ever exist. The numbers behind the position Bitcoin trading around $77,000 as of mid-August 2026 means the position carried unrealized gains of approximately $1.4 billion, a meaningful recovery from deeper losses the firm absorbed following Bitcoin’s all-time high in October 2025. As of August 16, 2026, Strategy’s cash and liquid holdings reached $4.8 billion, boosted in part by share sales that generated $333.7 million.
