Strategy resumes Bitcoin buying, adding $370 million in BTC

Strategy has resumed buying Bitcoin after pausing new purchases for about 10 weeks. According to a filing released on Monday, the largest crypto treasury added 4,603 BTC for approximately $370 million between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30, bringing its total holdings to 845,050 BTC worth about $66 billion. The company paid an average of $80,318 per Bitcoin for the latest purchase. Its Bitcoin holdings have generated more than $2 billion in unrealized gains. The latest acquisition was financed through Strategy’s MSTR at-the-market offering. Last week, the company sold about 4.5 million MSTR shares and received nearly $603 million in net proceeds. Strategy allocated nearly $370 million of those proceeds to Bitcoin, $152 million to repurchase STRC preferred stock, more than $50 million to STRC dividend payments and $30 million to its USD Cash liquidity account. Alongside the Bitcoin purchases, Strategy bought back over 1.5 million STRC shares. The company said almost $365 million of capacity remained under its preferred-stock repurchase program, while its MSTR repurchase program had $1 billion remaining.
