Stripe partners with local payment platforms to enhance cross-border transactions in Asia

Asian tech founders used to build for their home market first and figure out international expansion later. According to Stripe’s own survey data, AI startups based in Singapore now enter an average of seven new markets within their first year of existence. That stat alone explains why Stripe is doubling down on cross-border infrastructure across the region, stitching together local payment rails, currency conversion tools, and merchant partnerships designed to make geographic borders feel like a minor inconvenience rather than a business-model constraint.
