Team Vitality climbs to No. 2 in HLTV World Rankings after StarSeries win

Team Vitality just reminded everyone why they were the most dominant force in Counter-Strike last year. After taking down Aurora Gaming 3-1 in the grand finals of StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 in Barcelona on September 20, the French organization vaulted from No. 5 to No. 2 in the HLTV World Rankings. It’s their first title since BLAST Rivals back in May, and the timing couldn’t be better with the PGL Major in Singapore looming in November. A dominant run through Barcelona The StarSeries Fall 2026 tournament, also known as StarSeries 20, featured eight teams competing in a double-elimination format with a total prize pool of $500K. Vitality’s share: $200K and, more importantly, a massive rankings boost. The grand finals told the story pretty clearly. Vitality opened with a 13-4 demolition on Anubis, dropped Inferno 11-13 in a competitive second map, then reasserted control with a 13-4 on Mirage before closing things out 13-7 on Cache. The star of the show, unsurprisingly, was Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut. The French AWPer posted a 1.50 rating across the entire tournament and was named tournament MVP.
