Trump walks back promise to let Ukraine produce Patriot missiles domestically

Less than a month after promising Ukraine a license to manufacture its own Patriot air defense interceptors, President Donald Trump has changed course. During a cabinet meeting at Camp David, he told reporters that handing over the underlying technology was “a hard thing to give away.” The original promise was made during a NATO summit in Ankara, Turkey, where Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appeared to reach an agreement on domestic Patriot production.
