Ukraine’s economy minister warns $40B in export revenue threatened by blockade

Ukraine’s Economy Ministry is sounding the alarm over what amounts to an economic stranglehold. The country faces roughly $40 billion in threatened export revenue, $10 billion in infrastructure damage, and a projected 1.5 percentage point hit to GDP this year, according to the economy minister’s latest assessment. Russian missile strikes targeting Black Sea port infrastructure, particularly around Odesa, have intensified since July 2026.
