XRP network activity surges 655% with active addresses averaging 35,700

Active addresses on the XRP Ledger jumped 654.71% in a sharp burst of network engagement, a move that stands out against the token’s otherwise sleepy price action. The surge brought active addresses to roughly 356,000, a figure that dwarfs the network’s recent daily averages. XRP has spent much of 2026 trading around the $1 mark, closing recently at levels not seen since late November 2024. The numbers behind the spike To appreciate how unusual this surge is, consider the baseline. August 2026 saw daily active addresses average around 35,700, itself a 35% increase from July’s average of roughly 26,400. One-day peaks during August topped out at about 49,900 addresses. Transaction activity has been trending upward alongside the address growth. In late August, successful transactions on the XRPL increased by approximately 65.5%, while overall transaction volume rose by around 38.5%. The second quarter of 2026 logged 222.4 million transactions, the second-highest quarterly total ever recorded on the ledger.
