Arc launches XAUm, its first tokenized gold product

One week after Circle’s Arc blockchain went live, its first tokenized gold product is already trading. Matrixdock, the tokenization arm of BIT Group, launched XAUm on Arc on September 23, giving the freshly minted Layer-1 network a real-world asset offering before most chains even finish their testnet drama. Each XAUm token represents one troy ounce of 99.99% pure gold, sourced from LBMA Good Delivery refineries and stored with Brink’s and Malca-Amit across Hong Kong and Singapore. What XAUm actually does Eligible holders can redeem XAUm tokens for USDC proceeds on the same day, provided they pass verification and submit the required transaction evidence. Traditional gold markets typically operate on T+2 settlement cycles, meaning you wait two business days after a trade before anything actually moves. XAUm/USDC trading pairs are live on Uniswap, connecting gold reserves directly with blockchain-based dollar liquidity.
